Hockey is the fabric of our country and the cornerstone of every community. Hockey is more than a sport – it’s the thing that ties our community together. The Peninsula Panthers take pride in the hockey we provide our fans and also put a large emphasis on how we represent our community on and off the ice. Just as hard as we compete to win, we understand it is our responsibility to be role models in our communities and give back wherever and however we can. Below are some of the ways we are showing up in our community.
The Murphy Family Foundation was started in 2016 by Richard and Annie Murphy with the desire to support organizations that value young people. Young people deserve the right to access opportunities to thrive. Education, the arts, entrepreneurship, and sports hold immeasurable, positive opportunities for development, and yet many young people encounter financial, social, and geographic barriers to accessing these programs. At the Murphy Family Foundation, we believe the opportunity to learn, create, or play shouldn’t be a privilege. Every young person in every community has the right to thrive, and through dynamic and collaborative giving partnerships we are pursuing an environment that values all young people. Questions? For every Child Ticket sold in the regular season the Murphy Family Foundation will donate $1 USD to a local youth organization – to be announced soon!
