PANTHERS NAME TYLER STANTON DIRECTOR OF HOCKEY OPERATIONS & GM, GRAYSON VICKERS HEAD COACH

The Peninsula Panthers have named former Head Coach Tyler Stanton as the Director of Hockey Operations/General Manager (GM) effective immediately. Transitioning from the role of Head Coach, Stanton will continue in his role as the Panthers’ GM while also stepping into the Director position, granting him the responsibility of overseeing the Panthers’ entire hockey operations, focusing his efforts on strengthening the Peninsula Panthers hockey program.
“Having this separation in the role (Head Coach vs. GM) allows for further focus on and off the ice, to promote, expose and further progress our players to both the next junior levels and Collegiate levels!” Said Stanton. “We were lucky enough to succeed last year…. This allows us to spend further time to succeed for years to come.”
As for the Head Coach position, a familiar face and former Panther will be stepping in to assume the role for the 2025-26 season: former Assistant Coach Grayson Vickers. Vickers has been a part of the Panthers coaching staff since the 2022-23 season with previous years of coaching experience at varying levels since 2016. Before he began coaching, Vickers himself wore the Peninsula Panthers jersey from 2011-2014.
“I’m incredibly honored to step into the role of Head Coach for the Panthers,” Vicker said of his vertical transition. “Having proudly worn the Panthers jersey and worked with the team for the past two years, this opportunity means a great deal to me.”
The excitement for Vickers’ transition from Assistant Coach to Head Coach is shared by the entire Peninsula Panthers organization, including former Head Coach Stanton:
“I am beyond excited for Grayson, and the entire organization as we switch gears towards a higher development path to open greater opportunities for our players.”
“Ownership is thrilled with the trajectory of both Tyler Stanton and Coach Vickers’ respective role changes,” said Minority Owner Madelyn Murphy-Homer. “Both men bring incredible passion for player development and program excellence, and in their new roles I am confident we will continue to see our program strengthen and flourish.”
