The Peninsula Panthers Announce Groundbreaking Partnership with 49ing, Becoming First VIJHL Team to Join Platform

The Peninsula Panthers are proud to announce a partnership with 49ing, a Swiss-based leader in AI-driven hockey analytics. 49ing provides cutting-edge sports technology and fan engagement.

This collaboration makes the Panthers the first team in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL) to join the 49ing ecosystem, positioning the franchise at the forefront of digital innovation in junior hockey. This announcement comes days after the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL announced their own groundbreaking partnership with 49ing, marking them as the first team in the BCHL to utilize 49ing technology.

49ing currently partners with several NHL teams, Swiss National League, Swiss League, Hockey East, ECAC and 20+ pro, amateur and junior leagues in North America, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe. 49ing delivers professional-grade analytics, fan engagement tools, and digital infrastructure to some of the top names in sports. This same platform is now being brought to the VIJHL for the first time through the Panthers.

As part of the partnership, the Panthers gain access to 49ing’s suite of performance tracking tools, enabling staff to better analyze in-game metrics, enhance player development, and streamline communications within the organization.

“The organization is very excited to be partnering with 49ing,” stated Director of Hockey Operations & GM Tyler Stanton. “The vast analytic, knowledge, and visual works this provides to staff and players is unlike anything else. We could not be happier to have the opportunity to utilize this state-of-the-art platform.”

“Having played junior hockey and coached at the college level, I understand how game-changing the right tools can be,” said Michael Jamieson, Head of Sales at 49ing. “At 49ing, we’re excited to make an immediate impact—supporting the coaching staff, the front office, and, most importantly, elevating the player experience. A big thank you to Madelyn Murphy and Tyler Stanton for making this partnership happen—let’s get to work!”

The Peninsula Panthers home opener and tailgate party is Friday, September 5th at the Panorama Recreation Centre where the Panthers will face off against the Westshore Wolves. The tailgate starts at 5pm, and the puck drop is at 7:30pm. The Panthers will also be celebrating their 2024-25 VIJHL Championship win with a banner ceremony happening before puck drop and a championship ring ceremony on-ice right after the game. Don’t miss out – tickets can be bought at the tailgate, and season ticket passes can be purchased by emailing Tyler Stanton at tyler@panthers-hockey.com
